Reflections on a year of learning with Wendover

The role of a creative leader is not to have all the ideas; it’s to create a culture where everyone can have ideas and feel they are valued.
Sir Ken Robinson

After a final day of fun activities, reflection, competition and skills development, our full-time students had this to say about their past academic year.

A year that has included so many highlights:  building model treehouses, developing acute IT skills, practical science experiments, interviewing outside speakers, maths and literacy skills that have grown to underpin every academic subject that they study, above all else, a year that has been thoroughly enjoyed by students and teachers alike.

In these times, team talk is upbeat and forward-thinking, with our students excited about next year and providing positive reflections on the leap we have all taken.

What have been the best things?’ ‘Music, languages, teachers, maths, science everything especially the teachers’.

When you hand good people possibility, they do great things.
– Biz Stone

The smiles of memories created working together to develop ideas, to share our learning have been infectious.

All our students have benefitted regardless of age, they have learned from one another, from our teachers, from the world around them.  We have valued all the adventures that happen outside the school learning and celebrate every achievement with equal joy.

Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life forever.
– Amy Poehler

‘All my students have been fabulous. I have enjoyed your lessons!’ – Wendover Teacher.

It’s a privilege to collaborate in the learning, to have a small part in directing our students and to be excited about their futures.  Let’s think ‘outside the box’, challenge the conventional, explore the unfamiliar – what a wonderfully innovative and accomplished year!

Happy summer holidays!
