Heidi has always had a love for creativity, which led her to study Textile Design at university, specialising in machine and hand embroidery. After graduating, Heidi became an art teacher in England, working at two different secondary schools sharing her passion for art with KS3, GCSE and A-Level students.
After a few years of teaching, Heidi decided to take time off and travel for six months. She reflects, “It was an amazing experience that gave me new knowledge and a deeper understanding of different cultures”. Eventually, Heidi moved to Southwest France, where she now enjoys life by the beach with her children, surfing small waves, and taking long walks with their dog. Nature is a huge inspiration for her personal artwork, whether painting or working with textiles. When not teaching or creating art, you will Heidi at a Zumba class, practising yoga and taking time to relax.
Of online teaching, Heidi says “I love how flexible it is and how I can help students tap into their creativity at their own pace. My lessons are all about exploring varied materials, techniques, and a variety of artistic inspiration.”
The best part of teaching for Heidi is seeing her students grow in confidence and develop their creativity. In her words, “It is incredibly rewarding to be part of their journey and to help them realise their potential”.
