Ashley studied for her undergraduate degree in Criminology and Social Policy at the University of Brighton while working in the psychiatric unit of a men’s prison. During her degree, one of her old secondary school teachers suggested training to become a teacher. Ashley says ”I instantly fell in love with the profession.” She went on to gain a distinction in her PGCE in Psychology at the University of Sussex, while also completing an MA in Educational Studies.
Ashley’s secondary subject is Sociology, though she has also taught and tutored Religious Education, Maths, English, and Citizenship. Currently completing a doctorate in Education at the University of Bath, Ashely’s main academic interests are in teacher education and research methods. “Pursuing higher education reflects my true passion for teaching and learning.”
Throughout her teaching career, Ashley has taken on a range of responsibilities, including acting as head of department and holding whole school responsibility for disadvantaged pupils. Ashley has specialised in providing expert online tuition, teaching children from all over the world, most recently working with Ukrainian refugees and Chinese students preparing to study at leading UK universities.
“Outside of teaching, I love going to the theatre and attended the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts when I was a child.”
