With two parents who were teachers, Amy has always been fascinated by teaching as a career. Amy started teaching in London during the summer of 2004, having moved from America to the UK two years earlier to complete her teacher training at the Institute of Education. While she studied Business Management at university and was on track for a career in Management Consulting, Amy always felt a pull towards teaching, and she learnt that Business was a popular subject at GCSE and A Level in UK schools (quite different to her experience of secondary education in America).
During the pandemic, Amy taught online and grew to enjoy the flexibility and personalisation that online teaching offered. Since joining Wendover in 2023, she has thoroughly enjoyed teaching small classes and getting to know her students well.
When she’s not teaching online, Amy is either teaching in a physical school or tending to her vegetable patch in Shropshire. She also spends time chauffeuring her two children to various ski races around the country! Her family cherish their skiing holidays in Austria and France.
